After painting animals in large watercolours for 10 years my work developed more and more into large gestural drawings. For the last two years I have attended some exciting courses and learned to develop skills in gestural drawing and painting. I also fell in love with colour and the texture and buttery yumminess feel of oil paints. These courses have invigorated my work and I really enjoy applying my new skills in my latest series of paintings The process of drawing into painting is now a central part of my work and instead of my previous method of working from photos, I now gather my drawing and painting information straight from nature and endeavour to create an imaginative body of work inspired by the wonderful world of nature all around me.
